The selection of lubricating grease will also occur due to different friction conditions (load, speed, temperature), working conditions (continuous operation, intermittent operation, vibration and shock, etc.) and working environment (humidity, temperature, air pollution degree, etc.). However, there are many kinds of grease. How should we choose grease correctly and reasonably?
Lubricating oil has an extremely important impact on the operation and service life of bearings. Here is a brief introduction to the general principle of choosing lubricating grease. Lubricating grease is composed of base oil, thickener, additives, etc. different types, the same type and different brands of lubricating grease have great differences in performance, and the allowable rotation limit is different. You must pay attention to it when choosing. The performance of lubricating grease mainly depends on the base oil. Generally, the base oil with low viscosity is suitable for low temperature, high speed and high viscosity grease, which is suitable for high temperature and high load. Viscosity also affects the lubricating performance, and the water resistance of thickener determines the water resistance of lubricating grease. In principle, greases of different brands cannot be mixed, and even greases with the same thickener will have adverse effects on each other due to different additives.
The service temperature of lubricating grease should be at least 20~30 degrees lower than its drop point, which should be compatible with the service speed of the lubricated friction pair, the load, the environmental conditions, the grease supply mode, the working state and the working state of the friction pair. The variety of grease should be reduced as much as possible and the economic benefits should be improved.
