The wedge type unidirectional clutch consists of an outer ring, a figure-eight wedge, a holding spring, and an inner ring, which operate in a similar manner to the rollers in a roller type unidirectional clutch. As THE OUTER RING ROTATES COUNTERCLOCKWISE WITH RESPECT TO THE INNER RING IN THE DIAGRAM, THE WEDGE IS PUSHED TO TILT, ALLOWING SPACE BETWEEN THE INNER AND OUTER RINGS SO THAT THE CLUTCH WILL NOT LOCK. In other words, the WEDGE TYPE uniDIRECTIONAL CLUTCH shown in the FIGURE allows the outer ring to rotate counterclockwise with respect to the inner ring, or the inner ring to rotate clockwise with respect to the outer ring at all times.


However, if the outer ring tries to turn clockwise with respect to the inner ring, the wedge will not be able to move between the inner ring and the outer ring due to its geometry, thus locking the two together. This is to say, once the wedge is stuck inside and outside the ring, the unidirectional clutch appears locked, so that the outer ring can not rotate clockwise with respect to the inner ring, or the inner ring rotates counterclockwise with respect to the outer ring. In ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THE WEDGE CAN be reliably WEDged between the inner and outer rings, a HOLDING spring is FITTED in this UNIDIRECTIONAL CLUTCH SO THAT THE WEDGE can be locked in the direction of the two rings, always maintaining a little tilt.

Wedge type one-way clutch failure form and manufacturing materials, are the same as the roller type one-way clutch. Including seat and set out the inner race seat, outer and inner race seat radial distance between each other and coaxial set in relative rotation, multiple set between the outer circle and inner race of wedge, is used to transmit torque, the maintaining of wedge ring frame, as well as spring, the wedge between cage and the bearing in the mesh along one direction biasing wedge, its characteristic is that, The hold is provided with a cylindrical part, a window part with a radial extension, a wedge mounted in the window part for pivoting motion, and a spring is guided along an essentially circular direction by the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical part.


TCL model is wedge type one-way clutch with bearing support and oil seal. It contains lubricating oil when leaving the factory. This model is mainly used for overrunning speed clutches. Please specify the rotation direction of the ring from direction A when ordering. The moment transmitted by the elastic overbearing coupling shall be less than the nominal moment of the elastic overbearing coupling. The drive device installed in the clutch shall not have obvious vibration when running. The clutch guard must be installed to ensure complete service.

DC TYPE is WEDGE REtainer unidirectional clutch without inner ring and outer ring. This model must be compatible with customer designed inner ring and outer ring, bearing support axial and radial load, and lubricating grease and oil seal.

The space tolerance of the contact surface of the irregular actuator must be within the range, the width of the contact surface between the outer ring and the inner ring must not be less than size "E", and the contact surface must not have any grooves to ensure normal function.
