For bearings that are rustproof with thick oil and antirust grease (such as industrial Vaseline), No. 10 engine oil or transformer oil can be heated, dissolved and cleaned first (the oil temperature shall not exceed 100 ℃). Immerse the bearing in oil, take out and cool it after the anti rust grease dissolves, and then clean it with gasoline or kerosene.
Bearings that are rustproof with vapor phase agents, antirust water and other water-soluble antirust materials can be cleaned with soap based other cleaning agents, such as 664, 6503, 6501, etc.
When cleaning with gasoline or kerosene, hold the inner ring of the bearing with one hand and slowly rotate the outer ring with the other hand until the oil stains on the rolling element, raceway and cage of the bearing are completely removed, and then clean the surface of the outer ring of the bearing. When cleaning, you should also pay attention to the slow rotation and reciprocating shaking at the beginning, and do not rotate too hard, otherwise, the raceway and rolling body of the bearing are easy to be damaged by the attached dirt.
When the number of bearing cleaning is large, in order to save gasoline and kerosene and ensure the cleaning quality, it can be carried out in two steps: coarse cleaning and fine cleaning. For bearings that are inconvenient to disassemble, hot oil can be used for flushing. That is, scald with hot engine oil at a temperature of 90 ~ 100 ℃ to dissolve the old grease, dig out the old grease in the bearing with tools, flush the residual old oil and engine oil in the bearing with kerosene, and finally flush it with gasoline.
The cleaning quality of bearings depends on the sub sense inspection. After the bearing is cleaned, carefully observe that there will always be some residual oil in the inner and outer race raceways, on the rolling element and in the gap of the cage. During inspection, scrape out the remaining grease with a clean feeler gauge, apply it to the thumb, rub it back and forth slowly with the index finger, and if there is a rustling sound between the fingers, it means that the bearing is not cleaned, and it should be washed again. Finally, hold the bearing in your hand, hold the inner ring, and toggle the outer ring to rotate horizontally (large bearings can be placed on the assembly platform, with the inner ring padded, the outer ring suspended, pressing the inner ring, and rotating the outer ring), and it is qualified if the rotation is flexible, without blocking and jumping.
After the cleaned bearings are filled with lubricant, they should be placed on the assembly table, padded with clean cloth or paper pad below, and covered with plastic cloth above for assembly. When moving the bearing, it is not allowed to hold it directly by hand. You should wear canvas gloves or wrap the bearing with a clean cloth before holding it. Otherwise, because there is sweat and moisture on your hands, it is easy to produce fingerprint rust on the bearing after contact.
