2. The temperature of NAF bearings
The temperature of NAF bearings can generally be inferred from the temperature outside the bearing chamber. It is more suitable if the temperature of the outer ring of the bearing can be directly measured through the oil hole.
Usually, the temperature of NAF bearings gradually rises as the bearings start to run, and reaches a stable state after 1-2 hours. The abnormal bearing temperature varies with the machine's heat capacity, heat dissipation, speed, and load. If it is lubricated and installed properly, the temperature of the bearing will rise sharply, and a very low temperature will appear. At this time, the operation must be stopped and necessary precautionary measures must be taken.
The use of thermal sensors can monitor the working temperature of the bearing at any time, and when the temperature exceeds the specified value, it will automatically alarm or stop to prevent the accident of the burning shaft.
Low temperatures often mean the bearing has been in an abnormal environment. Low temperatures are also detrimental to bearing lubricants. Occasional bearing overheating can be attributed to the lubricant of the bearing. NAF bearings, if the bearings are kept at a temperature exceeding 125°C for a long time, the life of the bearings will be reduced. Causes of low-temperature bearings include insufficient lubrication or excessive lubrication, and lubricants. It contains impurities, the load is too large, the bearing ring is damaged, the clearance is insufficient, and the high friction is caused by the oil seal, etc.
Therefore, it is necessary to continuously monitor the bearing temperature, whether it is measuring the bearing itself or other important parts. If it is under the same operating conditions, any temperature change may indicate that a fault has occurred.
NAF bearing temperature can be regularly measured with the help of thermometers, such as NAF digital thermometers, which can accurately measure bearing temperature and display it in units of °C or Fahrenheit.
The critical bearing means that when it is damaged, it will cause the equipment to stop, so it is best to install a temperature detector on this bearing.
Under normal circumstances, the bearing will have a natural temperature rise after it is just lubricated or re-lubricated and lasts for one or two days.
