Creep: the so-called creep refers to the relative sliding between the mating surfaces when there is a gap on the mating surface of the bearing. The mating surface with creep shows bright or dark mirror surface, and sometimes it also has stuck wear.
Creep refers to what we commonly call bearing running outer ring, inner ring, inner circle, outer circle, inner edge, outer edge, slipping, shaft rotation, etc.
Cause: insufficient bearing interference or clearance fit, and insufficient fastening of the set sleeve.
Countermeasures:
● check the interference and implement the anti rotation measures (deep groove ball bearings, cylindrical roller cylindrical hole bearings, if the four point angular contact bearings, one-way bearings, overrunning clutches use inner and outer rings with keyways)
● tighten the set sleeve properly. (tapered bore bearings such as self-aligning ball, self-aligning roller, and outer spherical surface with seat)
● study the accuracy of shafts and bearing housings. (components with bearings installed in the bearing housing)
